Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was born September 7,
1987, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a stage
actor, writer and director, and her mother, Sara Wood, is an actor as well as
acting coach. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician, as well as Ira
David Wood III, an actor. Evan and her brothers often were seen performing at
Theatre In The Park in Raleigh. Her father was the founder of the theater and
serves as its director-executive. At the age five she was screened against
Kirsten Dunst to play the lead role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire
Chronicles (1994) after a long auditioning process. In the year 1996, she moved
to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mom. She has been a star in TV
shows film, feature films, and TV films since. She has appeared in Practical
Magic (1998) and also starred in the comedic S1m0ne (2002) as the daughter of
Al Pacino, and followed that with Thirteen (2003) featuring Holly Hunter. Her
breakthrough role as Tracy in "Thirteen" was rewarded with a Golden
Globes nomination for Best Performance by an actor in the genre of Motion
Picture: Drama and for a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding
Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role. In the year of her SAG
nomination, she was the youngest actress recognized for the Leading Role
category. She won a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding
Supporting Actress in the form of a Miniseries or Movie" for her portrayal
of Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011). Acclaim was also
awarded for her role as Stephanie (Mickey Rourke's ex-wife) in Darren
Aronofsky's The Wrestler (2008). She is the daughter of Sara Wood and Ira David
Wood III. Ira David Wood III's younger sister. She is a certified dancer. She
enjoys singing, swimming, rollerblade, and go horseback riding. She is the
black belt for tae do. She's kept in contact with all through her Once and
Again (1999) co-stars: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
